Hardship Discharge

Section 1328(b) -- early discharge when you cannot complete your Chapter 13 plan

Plan Modification -- Section 1329

Courts expect you to attempt modification before seeking hardship discharge. Adjust payments, extend the term, reduce unsecured distributions.

Conversion to Chapter 7

Convert to Chapter 7 for immediate discharge of unsecured debts. But you lose Chapter 13 benefits: mortgage cure, codebtor stay, cramdown.

Voluntary Dismissal

End the case entirely. Debts return in full. Creditors resume collection. Be aware of Section 362(c)(3) reduced stay if you refile within one year.
